The real deal!
Last October, my two children and I moved into our new apartment after a difficult separation.
In November, I fell into the darkness, and even though I was working, I found it quite difficult to keep up.
In December, I walked into a Local Community Center and saw a Professional immediately. Not long after
that day, I saw my doctor and was diagnosed with Clinical Depression. I was put off work, and since I did
not have a contract, I was not able to receive sick leave from my employer. I was a teacher.
The children and I are living on a very low amount of income, and everyone who knows me helps us
as much as they can. The children are not complaining, and they see how much life has improved for them
and myself since I am receiving the help I need and taking care of my health.
William loves to go to camp. He has no other extra-curricular activities but Camp every year. He does not
play a sport, nor does he take classes outside of school, we simply cannot afford it. He is now 13 years old
and soon old enough to be a camp counselor at 16. He needs these years at camp to teach him to be a
camp counseler.. they call that Counselor in training.
I also have a 15 year old daughter who is so supportive.. I mean I cannot offer her the luxuries a regular
teenager is used to, yet she loves to see her mother happy, and she does not complain.
Helping our family send Will to camp would be greatly appreciated. He is graduating from grade 6 and
going to high school next year. He suffers from ADHD and this year, and years passed, has not been
easy on him. I would love to be able to give him this gift of Camp.
